Unbelievably, our lot is still available! It's been several months since we were first given the option and thought for sure it had been scooped up while we hemmed and hawed. It's a wider lot (we have a side yard with a garage in the back so a little space goes a long way), a couple of blocks from the grocery and very close to what will be a common area/neighborhood park. Score!!! When we were looking for a new home, we considered several different things: 1. We definitely wanted to downsize, spend less time on home/yard maintenance and more time together, 2. We wanted to be closer to Nashville, and 3. We wanted a much more open floor plan that would be easier to maintain and better for the next phase of life which includes less full time kids at home and hopefully more visitors. Maybe even a legit grown up social life, do we dare dream???! So, we looked and looked, ultimately settling on a "staycation" neighborhood with small yards, parks, shopping, etc... We hope we made the right decision.
